Tri-Tip on The Weber

We broke out the ancient Weber Kettle and cooked up some tri-tip for a birthday celebration on Sunday. Not much time to shoot photos, so just one beauty shot of the meat just off the grill will fill the page. The thirty year old Weber still produces some tender, smoky meat. We rubbed the meat with olive oil, salt, pepper and garlic powder. The grill was fired with mesquite charcoal that added just a touch of smoke.

I am a big fan of Weber. My kettle is just as old. I just replace parts. It gets a work out all the time. It is efficient, versatile and dependable. It smokes, bakes, grills and easy to use.

By the way, Great looking tri-tip. That should make for some great sandwiches.

Chilebrown- Thanks! I had exactly two slices left after the hoards had their fill. Not nearly enough for a decent sandwich. I'm thinking about asking for a new kettle for father's day and see what happens.

Zoomie- No law against having two grills that I know of.;)I have three. A menage a trois of sorts.

Only two?

I'm shocked that Zoomie jettisoned her Weber when she got the Char-Broil. We kept our little Smokey Joe for... backup.
Greg, the tri-tip looks insane. Good.

cookiecrumb- Tri-tip was gone! We gave our Smokey Joe to one of the kids and now regret it.
