Taking a Dive
Hi Dive - San Francisco
This place I have passed many times but never tried. It is on the waterfront a short distance from AT&T - SF Giants' Park. On game days, it is slamming with Giants fans before and after play. My daughter has a new job nearby and when I asked if we could buy her lunch she strongly recommended Hi Dive. We picked her up a little after 1 p.m. and strolled the short distance to the Embarcadero. The weather was wonderful and we could have dined on the outside patio but elected to stay inside. There is a bar area and lots of tables with bay views. April decided on fish and chips. The fish was good but the stars of the plate were the seasoned french fries and the accompanying remoulade. My daughter had the Sante Fe salad which was a crowd pleaser. I had the BLT&A: A great BLT rendition with the addition of just ripe avocado. Not really a dive at all, but a comfortable, inviting bar/restaurant I wish I had close to my neighborhood.

I love places like that - unpretentious, but good food. Another fave around the corner from there is The Ramp. Only really good on a sunny day as 90% of the tables are outdoors in a shabby, funky part of SF.
I have never been south of the ball park. So many places to check out.
Might have to check that out after browsing the Ferry Plaza. Fish & Chips is Ms. Goofy's favoritte.
It is a beautiful walk from the Ferry Plaza.
I have never even noticed that place. I guess I always get stuck at Red's Java Hut.
And the only thing I eat at The Ramp is a martini.
cookiecrumb- Yeah me too. It seems like it has been fixed up from what I remember.Martini eating is a favorite of mine also.
