These guys are popping up all over the place in the open space near us. Wish I had the skills to know if they were edible. Talk about eating local. Happy new year!
they look like an edible blewitt but theyre not. rub them, break a bit off. if it turns blue..it'll kill ya! i got very excited about these too popping up all over the mount near Tam... bah, was looking for chanterelles!
Reinventing myself always.
The first job I ever had was making subs in a pizza joint back east. Some of the food Jobs I’ve had since. Army Cook, Live fire cook (smelled like smoke during most college classes), Bartender, Caterer, Host, Server. I almost bought a fast food restaurant until I came to my senses.
My parents loved what Dad called joints. Italian, Basque and Asian all had plentiful food at good prices. I think this helps explain my taste for cheap eats and inexpensive wines. Now I find myself an observer and blogger.
Having restaurants serve me or making food myself gives me much pleasure. Enjoy!

You can have a walk with a mycologist to learn some of those by contacting the mycololgical society. In the meantime, don't!
Damn. Looks like a chanterelle. Hurry and find out; don't want to waste them.
