Carbo Delicious

I have always wanted to try poutine, a Canadian export that pops up all over the internet. We've been to Canada twice in the last two years, but it never appeared on menus we saw. We were on the west coast maybe that was the problem. Why the draw of poutine? I remember having fries with gravy back east in my high school days. The food of youth always calls us back. When my daughter, who works at Trader Joe's, alerted us that they carried a frozen version of poutine it was game on. My expectations were low but we were pleasantly surprise by this beefy-cheesy treat. It would be a perfect dish for the up coming football season.
Trader Joe's Poutine. Beefy!

Fun! How did you make it? Microwave? Oven?

Zoomie- A very good question! The fries go into the oven like frozen fries. I let them go longer than directed cause we like them crisp. The cheese curd and gravy come in separate plastic bags that are submersed into hot water. We just barely warm the curds and let the gravy get really hot. I would love to try a full on deep fried version but this turns out really good.

To quote a blogger from the past, Dr. Biggles; 'It's all about the gravy mang!'
