Breakfast Included!

If I ruled the world, breakfast would be included with every hotel stay: No twenty dollar scrambled eggs or five dollar coffee. We took Amtrak's Capital Corridor to Roseville, to pick up a used car for my ghetto fleet. Rather than drive home in the fog we stayed the night a the Hallmark Inn near U.C. Davis. In the morning, we were greeted  by a wonderful assortment of breakfast goodies. I had the ham-cheese omelet . April had a huge waffle with fresh fruit. Coffee and juice completed the feast. Alright I confess! I had a slab of lemon-poppy seed cake. If you arrive during happy hour, adult beverages are included too!

I'm with you - those super-expensive breakfasts are just not fair. I usually leave the hotel and go find a cheaper breakfast place. I've even been known to scope it out the night before! :-)

Zoomie- I see expensive hotels replacing restaurants with grab and go coffee kiosks. Why give up the profits to Starbucks or Mickey D's. I prefer the hotels that cater to business travelers and include the breakfast. Like you I check out cheaper options. I go to Google Maps and hit search nearby for breakfast. I love the internet!

Ooooh, good idea to use Google maps! I hadn't thought of that. Next time!
