Waffle Ya Real Good

It's the last Sunday Marin Farmers' Market before Christmas. The place was jammin and slammin! The sun was shining down and the temperature was crisp. What a lovely way to spend an hour or so.
Of course I picked up some Meyer Lemons because it's their season and I love the temperamental little guys. We have a couple of lemons on our tree we planted this spring but I need more for my plans. We grabbed a couple bunches of beets to roast for beet salad with Meyer lemon dressing with sprinkles of blue cheese.
I always like to get a little something, something to treat myself for the hard work of shopping. Today we spotted a little white truck with a picture of a waffle on it. It turns out it belongs to Waffle Mania and serves some tasty sweet Belgian Waffles. You gotta get some!

Wait, are they crispy critters, like cookies or are they made right on a waffle oven in front of you? That's so cool! I'm so excited, heading out to Carmel for another California Christmas. Monday can't come fast enough (I work Xmas eve and fly out early am-in time for the family celebration and hopefully some cinnamon buns).

they are like hot fresh waffles soft and sweet without a topping. You can also get powdered sugar or Nutella

I've got to sneak in my final shopping trip at the market Thursday morning, in between the waves of rainstorms.
Wish the waffle truck would be there, but I expect it's a Sunday thing.
Oh well. Next year!

DAngit. Whatever happened to the good ol' waffle? The one with the little wafflies? I went shopping for a new waffle iron and all I found were 5 versions of Belgian waffles. Grrrr.
